22 from pleasant hills. there you go, there will be records, almost all were sit at 72 and napa is 23 right now, yesterday they had a breeze and that held up their temperatures and san francisco, our observer had 29 degrees. that would tie a record low. the record is 35. that is pretty cool. he has 19 degrees here and san jose will tie a record going back to 1972. novato 22, napa 23, half-moon bay and there are some areas on the coast and we are very close to it. that is the open airport. airfield, -- fairfield they had a breeze towards parts of fairfield oakly and i it goes until 9:00 and visibility is sparkling. 19 in ike ukiah, that cold air has plenty of time to settle in and that system will move in friday night saturday giving us a quick shot of rain and some upper 40s for highs today, pablos are already there. the highs on clear lake, 48 kent field, and oakly will be in there, danville, walnut creek, 52 alameda and that will be the hot spot. even morgan -- morgan hill, starting off about many inland locations. it clouded up friday afternoon and evening and then back to cold ag

overnight low temperatures. current numbers 49 right now in napa. the north bay will see temperatures tomorrow morning just before sun rise that will be down into the upper 20s and low 30s. frost in lots of plaices. below freezing temperatures in lots of places tonight, especially in the north bay. yesterday's temperatures and today's temperatures, that front went through. separates the warm air from the cold air. now we are in the old air sector of that front. just happens to be very cold. kind of continental cold air that's going to settle in. stick around for awhile. it will drop temperatures in the north bay to the freeze warning level in the north bay. for the rest of the bay area, excluding san francisco, as we go into wednesday night and thursday morning. so, a very cool period coming up. it's not going to warm up any time soon. overnight lows for tomorrow morning. 28 in santa rosa. 29 in fairfield. these numbers could dip even further out in the valley. upper 20s, low 30s. oakland 39 degrees. not 28, but 39 degrees in an urban area is a big deal. you have lots of issues when

of the rainfall totals over the last 24 hours. .47 in napa. .4 in santa rosa. almost .3 for oakland, san francisco picking up almost .4. san jose picking up .13. we have seen snowfall in areas right around the santa cruz mountains, right over the summit, mount st. helena has reported a little snow. northern areas of napa county reported some snow yesterday. a few sprinkles that may or may not be hitting the ground at this point. it's sort of fascinating when we get that snow in our local hills. i'm seeing a little here remaining. that moisture over mount diablo. the altamont pass area stretching across 580. this is just the very tail end. we're going to see this actually continue to move to the south. if you are going to tahoe this weekend, still snow with an advisory over tahoe until 10:00 a.m. for the west slope droiring up to tahoe it's until 4:00 p.m. today. we have snow levels to pollock pines and in and around areas from truckee into blue canyon. snow level still fairly low, 3500 feet-4500 feet out there this morning. the winds are picking up. 8 miles per hour in nap awrks 9 in fairfield, 6

in napa county. caltrans had a couple of snowplows this afternoon. the first flurry of snowflakes in ukiah after 3:00 this afternoon. this picture shows highway 101 at southbound north state street. >>> the rain, snow and continued freezing cold temperatures all make for a deadly mix for people living on the street. robert handa is in san jose tonight where unfortunately three people have died from hypothermia. >> reporter: less than an hour ago at the sheriff's department, emergency agencies released information that basically confirm what we've been reporting throughout the day. this cold snap is not only dangerous, it's deadly. >> emergency workers handed out blankets and supplies at this homeless encampment in san jose where santa clara agencies say a homeless man died in the cold snap during the past two days. other homeless people there were sad about the death and worried about themselves. >> it scares me because i'm going through the same cold. it's very freezing at night. i can't sleep. >> reporter: today the medical examiner's office and public health officials say three homeless

cold numbers for napa, vallejo, petaluma35. right now we are in the clear. that cold air continues to move in from the north so we had that freeze warning in place until 9:00 tomorrow morning except san francisco. it's in place until tomorrow night and reissued monday night. so two more freeze warnings to talk about. monday night 10:00 until 2:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. tuesday. the coolest locations you can see dropping back down to right around 19 to 20 degrees. a very cold start first thing tomorrow morning. napa dropping into the 20s. right now 25 to 26 degrees. you can see for the overnight hours dropping to below freezing for at least 10 hours up until 7:00 or 8:00 tomorrow morning. temperatures will be trending upward but freezing temperatures for quite some time. still pretty cold numbers after that point and we'll also take a look at your weekend in view coming up in a little bit. >>> and you can follow mark and the rest of our ktvu weather team online for more on this cold snap. they're posting updates on twitter and facebook. >> a powerful storm has drivers dealing with sn

right now for most. altamonte pass, biggest gust i can find, 44 miles per hour. napa airport last hour 30 and concord and buchanan field 24 miles per hour. our system is moving in with the cloud cover. the cold air is still up here, has a ways to go. crescent city is 37. there's pretty cold air coming in. a few showers last few frames you can see moving fast from about mount view heading towards saratoga, san jose and santa clara valley. doesn't look they're too heavy but could get very light rain briefly here. that system also stretches back towards -- trying to get towards livermore, maybe the altamonte pass. mainly 50s, napa at 4th. a lot of 50s here again. the breeze, the wind holding temps up. 38 tahoe. last check it started to snow. i'm not surprised. temperatures really -- i mean everything's moving really quick here. we get clouds in the morning and then by the afternoon that's when the cold air plunges in. it will be in tonight and tomorrow. cloudy to mostly cloudy, windy, showers developing, nothing too heavy, just light stuff, but from 65 yesterday and today we'll go to the

couple of mornings. record-breaking cold as you can see for parts of the bay area. napa, 25 degrees. mountain view 33. san jose 30 degrees. you might have said today it felt cold enough to snow. that is the case. you can pick up the current radar up to the north. ukia has been reporting snow since 1:00 this afternoon. they're over 600 feet. this is very low snow levels. you can pick out also right around lake county, the snowfall on the increase. as we switch over to the radar, showing you the overall pattern across the region, the bulk of the activity in rain showers focused in north bay, reports of light rain up in santa rosa. also cloverdale. moving the maps to the south, not too much coverage but a few light rain showers in oakland. i will tell you this activity will be taking up in the short- term as you can see here around the hay what were area and the -- heyward area. we have rain approaching santa cruz in the immediate shoreline. that will continue that trend in the short-term. here is our forecast model. put this into motion. look what happens at 8:00. coverage on the incr
